Discover How Our Queens Autism Center Is Leading the Way in Autism Therapy
Here in NY, we are redefining autism therapy with a holistic, all-day approach that empowers children to develop essential life skills, fostering independence and confidence for a brighter future.
Pioneering Autism Therapy and Awareness in New York and Beyond
Located in College Point, New York, our organization is committed to supporting children with autism across the five boroughs of New York City. What sets SPARTA apart in a city teeming with autism service providers is our comprehensive and individualized approach to care, which begins each day in the homes of our students and extends throughout their daily routines.
We believe that each child is unique, and so should be their therapy. Our team creates individualized behavior plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each student. Every child is assigned a dedicated therapist who becomes an integral part of their daily life, providing consistency and a sense of security. The day starts with the therapist assisting the child with essential life skills, such as brushing their teeth, getting ready for the day, and preparing breakfast. This personalized approach ensures that our students not only receive specialized autism therapy but also develop crucial life skills that enhance their independence and confidence.
” I feel like since he (Liam) started the program, he is much more independent. Out in the community, he is able to keep himself grounded, have his emotions together. Minimal Meltdowns. And the most important part of the program, his biggest achievement, is that I have seen that Liam’s personality has shined through “
An Entire Day, Devoted to Their Growth
Following the morning routine, our students are transported to our center in College Point, where their day continues with a range of therapies, including occupational, physical, and speech therapy. Each child follows an individualized curriculum designed to address their unique challenges and strengths. In addition, the importance of socializing with their peers cannot be understated. After the school day, our therapists accompany the children home, assisting with the final tasks of the day and reinforcing the skills learned. This holistic, day-long support system helps children with autism to thrive in both therapeutic and everyday settings.
Our program commands a level of commitment not found in most other programs; our providers are deeply engaged with their students at every step, fostering a close-knit and supportive environment. This high level of involvement enables our therapists to play a pivotal role in the significant milestones our students achieve, making the journey of progress a shared and celebrated experience.
Beyond Therapy: Building Skills Through Community and Experience
In addition to our therapy services, SPARTA places a strong emphasis on community engagement and experiential learning. We organize a variety of field trips, such as horseback riding, swimming at local pools, and visits to amusement parks. These outings provide our students with opportunities to develop social skills, enjoy new experiences, and apply their learning in real-world settings. We also participate in community service events, such as cleaning local parks and assisting park services in trimming invasive species. These activities not only benefit our students but also foster a sense of community responsibility and connection.
